City of Marikina

We decided to spend our holyweek vacation at my moms home in Marikina. Doon kami nagpa-apon for one week hehehe. At nakaroon kami ng maraming time para malibot ang halos lahat ng mga famous landmarks ng marikina. Very proud talaga sila mama ko sa Marikina kasi malinis daw ito at talagang naaalagaan ng mga tao doon pati ng mga namumuno doon ang kanilang bayan.

Marikina River Park
Marikina City takes pride in the historic Marikina River, whose exemplary rehabilitation won for the city several awards and citations.

The Largest Pair of Shoes in the World
Certified by the Guinness World Records as the largest pair of shoes in the world, this work of art and craftsmanship affirms Marikina City's supremacy in shoe manufacturing.

Marikorea Monument
This monument is the country's first structure honoring the 7,000 Filipino soldiers who helped defend South Korea in the bloody Korean War in the early 1950s.

World of Butterflies
Home to hundreds of butterflies of different species. Since its opening on July 25, 2004, it has become a must in the itinerary of educational tours as well as sightseeing trips.


Evolution Park
The evolution Park is a lush, landscaped haven. The dairy-farm theme, complete with 18 lige-size replicas of cows, pays homage to the beginnings of the evolution Park as the then-only grazing farm in Marikina.


Shoe Museum
It showcases about 800 pairs of shoes that once belonged to Former Philippine Fisrt Lady Imelda Marcos.


Sentrong Pangkultura ng Marikina
A two-centtury-old building was once ownde by Don laureano "Kapitan Moy" Guevara, recognized as the father of Marikina's shoe industry.
